Holders hook up with world champions

UEFA European Under-17 Championship holders Germany will take on FIFA U-17 World Cup winners Switzerland in an Elite round group that also contains Hungary and Serbia after the draw was made in Nyon.

Spring mini-tournaments
Seven places are available in the finals from 18 to 30 May 2010 alongside hosts Liechtenstein. The berths will go to the winners of the one-venue mini-tournaments that were formed in the draw and take place in late March and early April. The sole two-time U17 champions, Spain are in Group 4 with Poland, hosys Northern Ireland and Belgium, while having made it through a round of UEFA competition for the first time, Malta take on home side England, Slovakia and Sweden in Group 7. Two former champions are in Group 5, with France and Turkey up against Wales and Norway.
