Armenia win not enough

Armenia 4-1 Norway Armenia emerge victorious but both sides are eliminated after England beat Iceland.

Armenia bounced back from losing their opening UEFA European Under-17 Championship second qualifying round Group 2 game to England by comfortably beating Norway - but both teams' campaigns are over.

England triumphant
England's last-minute 1-0 win against Iceland elsewhere today ensures the group hosts a place in the finals in May as neither Armenia nor Iceland will be able to finish above them on head-to-head record.

Late goals confirm win
However, Armenia were still impressive, taking the lead on 14 minutes through Vardan Khachatryan. Norway levelled ten minutes later with a goal from Jesper Mathisen, but Iceland's lead was restored before the break by Armen Gevorkyants. In the last seven minutes Balep Ndounbuk and Edgar Manucharyan added goals to confirm the victory.

Final games
Armenia's campaign ends against Iceland on Sunday, when a draw would confirm second place, while Norway meet England hoping for their first points in the group, but knowing they will end in fourth.
