Finalists count cost of suspensions

Greece and Spain will each be missing two key players through suspenstion, including their respective captains, for Friday night's final at the Linzer Stadion.

Both teams in Friday's UEFA European Under-19 Championship final between Greece and Spain will be without their usual captain after Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Javier Martínez picked up their second yellow cards of the final tournament in Tuesday's semi-finals.

Papastathopoulos was cautioned midway through the second half of Greece's 3-2 victory against Germany in Steyr, ruling him out of the match in Linz while Vassilis Pliatsikas, who was sent off just after the hour having collected two bookings, is also banned. Spain also finished their semi-final, against France in Pasching, with ten men after Ángel Montoro was dismissed in the final seconds of extra time of the match they won 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out. The midfielder is now suspended for the showdown against Greece along with Martínez following the latter's booking 15 minutes from the end of normal time.
