• The spearhead of Luis Milla's superb Spain side, Adrián scored five goals in Denmark (two against the Czech Republic and Belarus, and one versus Ukraine) to claim the adidas Golden Boot award.

• Scored in both legs of this season's U21 play-off victory against Croatia as well as at home to Liechtenstein in qualifying.

• Made one appearance at the 2009 U21 finals in Sweden, in Spain's 2-0 group stage defeat by England.

• Awarded Silver Boot at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada after five goals in as many matches as Spain reached the quarter-finals.
