Moldova registered their first win of 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying by seeping aside San Marino 3-0 in Serravalle.

On the back foot for long stretches, the hosts had showed early sparkle as Manuel Battistini struck a post. Moldova swiftly wrestled back the initiative, Igor Dima opening the scoring by turning in Iurie Mîrza's centre. The visitors doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark when Dima was felled in the area and Gheorghe Anton converted from the spot.

Only a spectacular save from Elia Benedettini prevented Anton from making it three, and the San Marino goalkeeper was at it again to repel Mîrza's header. He was helpless to prevent Nicolae Milinceanu from adding the final flourish, though, as the substitute headed in a pinpoint cross from Mîrza with seven minutes remaining.
