Brilliant Brozek inspires Poland

Poland 3-2 Wales A viruoso performance from forward Pawel Brozek gave Poland a thrilling victory over Group 6 strugglers Wales.

Poland striker Pawel Brozek scored two goals and created one to help his team beat Wales 3-2 in a game that proved easy on the eye despite both teams having already been mathematically eliminated from Group 6.

Busy opening
In a lively opening spell, Wales took an early lead through forward David Cotterill, who jinked past Marcin Pawelec before slotting past Lukasz Fabianski from a devilishly tight angle on 13 minutes.

Ice-cold assassin
Brozek started to leave his mark on the game just five minutes later, beating Welsh goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey with ice-cool precision in a one-on-one situation. Soon after, strike partner Karol Gregorek failed to show the same cool head in front of goal, firing just over. When Gregorek did find the net, his celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.

Luckless Pawelec
Against the run of play, Wales went back in front eight minutes before half-time as Pawelec deflected a David Vaughan effort past Fabianski. Brozek came close to sending the sides into the break on level terms but saw his shot cannon back off the post.

Brozek brothers' brilliance
On 52 minutes, Brozek grabbed his second, combining brilliantly with his twin brother Piotr Brozek and beating Hennessey from a narrow angle. The irresistible Pawel Brozek rounded off his performance in brilliant fashion, laying on the winner for Gregorek ten minutes from time.
