Georgia 0-3 Ukraine Artem Milevskyy scored twice as Ukraine moved to within three points of leaders Denmark.
Ukraine won 3-0 in Georgia to close the gap on UEFA European Under-21 Championship Group 2 leaders Denmark after the Scandinavian side lost in Turkey.
Forward Ruslan Fomin gave Ukraine the lead on nine minutes following a neat counterattack. Georgia’s Gogita Gogua unleashed a powerful shot from 25 metres which was blocked by a defender, and from the resulting break Fomin latched on to a long pass, broke into the penalty area and lobbed the ball over the advancing Nukri Revishvili.
Fumin’s strike partner, Artem Milevskyy, gave the visitors a two-goal advantage when he headed in Olexander Sitnik’s cross on 22 minutes, and the same player completed the scoring on the hour by sending the ball into the far corner of Revishvili’s net after beating two defenders.
Both sides finished the game with ten men following dismissals: Ukraine defender Dmytro Chygrynskiy was the first to see red on 72 minutes, with Zurab Gvadzabia following within 60 seconds. Denmark top the pool by three points from Ukraine, a position of strength bearing in mind their game in hand.
