INTERSPORT on board for U21 finals

INTERSPORT Sweden has been appointed the Official Sports Shop of the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship which will take place between 15 and 29 June in Sweden.

Market leader
INTERSPORT, the worldwide leader in the sporting goods retail market, is also market leader in Sweden. In its role as the Official Sports Shop, INTERSPORT Sweden will distribute 2009 UEFA European U21 Championship branded merchandise throughout their Swedish retail outlets as well as creating a web shop which will be launched specifically for this event.

'Great collaboration'
INTERSPORT Sweden will also act as the official on-site retailer, selling a broad range of products at all of the four stadia at the tournament in Gothenburg, Malmo, Halmstad and Helsingborg. "Based on the great collaboration we experienced with INTERSPORT during UEFA EURO 2008™, we are convinced that UEFA has chosen the right partner to make sure that high quality products are offered to football fans in Sweden," UEFA commercial director Philippe Margraff said.

'Experience'
Commenting on the agreement, INTERSPORT International CEO Franz Julen said: "With the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2009 in Sweden we will continue our good co-operation with UEFA in football, one of our major sport categories. We are proud to be a National Supporter and our retail experience together with INTERSPORT Sweden's strong football market position will further contribute to a successful event."
