England and Greece set up decider

A Francis Jeffers hat trick helped England defeat Albania 5-0 to set up a Group Nine UEFA European Under-21 Championship decider against Greece.

A Francis Jeffers hat trick helped England defeat Albania 5-0 to go second in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group Nine and set up a final round decider against Greece.

England romp home
The Arsenal FC forward opened the scoring on 17 minutes but the hosts had to wait until the 59th minute to extend their lead further when Jeffers struck again. Jermaine Defoe made it 3-0 on 71 minutes after enterprising play by Scott Parker and Jonathan Greening swept home a fourth a minute from time. Jeffers completed the scoring, and his hat trick, by slotting home in the final minute.

Greece in pole
The victory lifts England above Germany and into second place in Group Nine on 14 points, two behind leaders Greece who were comfortable 3-0 winners in Finland. Kyriazis, Vakuftsis and Efstathios Tavlaridis scored for the Greeks who only need to draw with the English on 5 October to win the group.
