Zamora included
Alan Smith, Malcolm Christie, Jermain Defoe, Shola Ameobi and Peter Crouch are all selected, along with Brighton & Hove Albion FC forward Bobby Zamora, whose team won this season's Football League second division.
Five make Korea/Japan trip
Coach Platt has been forced to leave out Under-21 eligible players Wayne Bridge, Wes Brown, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole and Darius Vassell, who have all been selected for England's full FIFA World Cup squad.
Quartet bring full experience
However, Ledley King, David Dunn, Gareth Barry and Michael Carrick are able to bring senior international experience to their campaign in Switzerland.
'Vast potential'
Platt told the Football Association's official website: "This is an excellent squad and one I am delighted to be taking to Switzerland. We have vast potential and now is the time to realise it."
Hosts and holders await
England begin their campaign on 17 May against hosts Switzerland, before facing holders Italy and Portugal.
