Badiane replaces injured Zubar

The French FA have called up Jean-Michel Badiane to their UEFA European Under-21 Championship squad, replacing the injured Ronald Zubar.

The French FA have announced the late call-up of Jean-Michel Badiane to their UEFA European Under-21 Championship squad. The Paris Saint-Germain FC centre-back replaces Ronald Zubar, who has failed to shrug off a thigh injury picked up playing for SM Caen on 15 April.

Major blow
Zubar's absence is a major blow to coach René Girard. The Guadeloupe-born player is a regular starter at the heart of the defence, and he played a leading role in France's qualifying playoff win against England last November.
