Zimling still a worry for Denmark

Denmark are waiting for news on Esbjerg fB midfielder Niki Zimling ahead of their opening Group B game against Italy on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old's groin injury means he is coach Flemming Serritslev's only doubt as he prepares his team to play the defending champions in Aveiro. Zimling sat out training today, instead undergoing a special programme designed by the team's physiotherapists. "We have no reason to be anything but optimistic," said Serritslev. "But we also have to be realistic about our first match, where we will be facing opponents who will punish the slightest mistake we might make."
