Article body
There will be a new name on the UEFA European Under-21 Championship trophy as the Netherlands and Ukraine contest the final at the Estádio do Bessa Século XXI in Porto at 19.45 on Sunday. In Thursday's semi-finals, Nicky Hofs scored twice and Klaas Jan Huntelaar the other - "a beauty" according to his coach Foppe de Haan - as the Dutch defeated France 3-2 after extra time in Braga. There may have been no goals but the drama was as unrelenting in Aveiro as Ukraine saw off Serbia and Montenegro 5-4 on penalties after 120 goalless minutes.
The Netherlands have been designated as the home team in the showpiece. As such, they will wear (subject to approval) their traditional orange shirt with white shorts and blue socks. Having played in their all-yellow strip throughout the tournament so far, Ukraine will be wearing a blue shirt with yellow shorts and socks in Porto.
Referee: Martin Hansson of Sweden has been named as referee for Sunday's final. One of six referees appointed to oversee the 15 matches in northern Portugal, Hansson has been rewarded for impressive performances in the middle in the Portugal-Serbia and Montenegro and Netherlands-Italy games. The 35-year-old will be assisted by countryman Fredrik Nilsson and England's Roger East. Another Englishman, Howard Webb, will undertake fourth official duties.
UEFA Cup: Ten teams will be involved in the UEFA Fair Play draw at half-time on Sunday night with two places in the 2006/07 UEFA Cup first qualifying round up for grabs. The clubs have been put forward by their respective national associations after they finished the 2005/06 UEFA competition season with a fair play coefficient higher than 8.0 in the UEFA Fair Play ranking. The Allsvenskan club Gefle IF have already earned a UEFA Cup place after Sweden topped the standings.
Along with a team from Slovenia, the sides are: IFK Mariehamn (Finland), KSV Roeselare (Belgium), JK Tammeka Tartu (Estonia), FK Riga (Latvia), NAC Breda (Netherlands), SK Brann (Norway), FC Aarau (Switzerland), Haverfordwest County AFC (Wales), BV Borussia Dortmund (Germany). The fair play coefficient is based on criteria such as positive play, respect of the opponent, respect of the referee, behaviour of the crowd and of the team officials as well as cautions and dismissals.
Scouts: There are a limited number of tickets available for scouts and club representatives wishing to attend the final. Those interested are required to email scouts@uefa.ch asap with 'U21 Scout Ticket Request' as the subject.
Tickets: Fans wishing to attend the final can buy tickets on the gate with tickets ranging in price from €5-€15.
Closing ceremony: A short ceremony will precede the match between the Netherlands and Ukraine featuring Portuguese rap artist Boss AC.
Inheriting his mother's passion for music - Ana Firmino is one of Cape Verde's greatest musical talents - Boss AC has developed an unusual hip-hop sound since his first album Mandachuva in 1998, which was recorded in the United States. He has gone on to branch out into television and movies, while continuing to work with some of the greatest names in Portuguese music. In 2002, he recorded, produced and mixed his second album Rimar Contra a Maré. With his music reflecting the fusion between Portuguese and African influences, Boss AC released his most successful album R.A.P. (Ritmo, Amor e Palavras) last year. It sold more than 30,000 copies in Portugal and in September last year he was nominated for the MTV European Music Awards in Lisbon.
Record attendances: The UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Portugal has received an emphatic vote of confidence from the football public. Attendance figures reached 160,592 following the semi-finals, shattering the previous record of 110,000 set in the 2004 competition in Germany - a tournament which saw 16 games, one more than this one where there is no third-placed play-off.

If the teams are still equal after extra time, the winners will be determined by kicks from the penalty mark.
