Hušek rejoins Czech contingent

Midfielder Luboš Hušek has been restored to the Czech Republic squad for a friendly tournament in Portugal after making peace with coach Ladislav Škorpil.

Example set
The AC Sparta Praha midfielder was omitted from the squad in the autumn after he disappeared for several days before the UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-off against Bosnia-Herzegovina, but Škorpil has now forgiven the 23-year-old, saying: "I had to show him that he is not indispensable, but the bitterness is gone and he is part of the squad again."

Youngsters excused
The Czechs will play Slovenia and the winners of Portugal's match against Estonia on 6 and 8 February respectively. Škorpil has decided to do without younger players Michal Švec, Petr Janda and Tomáš Necid, all from SK Slavia Praha, as well as Jan Blažek from FC Slovan Liberec, saying: "They are practising for the FIFA U-20 World Cup and we don't want to disturb their training. However they could be in the squad for [this summer's finals in] the Netherlands."
