Czech plans undermined by injuries

Czech Republic coach Ladislav Škorpil will have to contend with the absence of several key players, including Tomáš Frejlach, for this month's friendlies.

Czech Republic coach Ladislav Škorpil will be without Tomáš Frejlach for the side's forthcoming friendlies against the Netherlands and Germany as the countdown continues to this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Key absentees
FC Slovan Liberec forward Frejlach was the Czechs' top scorer in qualifying with three goals, but is sidelined with a knee injury and Škorpil is also having to contend with a number of other absentees. Defensive linchpin Martin Latka has a thigh problem, Michal Švec is preparing for the FIFA U-20 World Cup and Daniel Pudil has been called up by the senior national side. It will place more onus on the two foreign-based players in the squad, Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker Michal Papadopulos and FC Moskva defender Michal Hubník, for the matches against the Netherlands in Mlada Boleslav on 23 March, and Germany in Dusseldorf four days later.
