Final fixtures
Serbia are two points adrift of section leaders Belarus with one game to play, and will move to the top of the table – and into a spot that would guarantee them a place in the play-offs for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Sweden next summer – ahead of Belarus's final game away against Latvia on 9 September. FK Rad defender Vujadin Savić, FK Partizan midfielder Adem Ljajić and FK Vojvodina forward Danijel Aleksić have all received their first call-ups, with the latter pair impressing with the U19 and U17 teams, while Krčmarević will hold talks with new senior team coach Radomir Antić about making a number of other players available for the match.

Discussions expected
Defenders Gojko Kačar and Ivan Obradović and midfielders Zoran Tošić, Stefan Babović and Miralem Sulejmani have all been named in Antić's squad for Serbia's opening 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and France on 6 and 10 October, but would all be able to play for the U21 selection if permitted. Of the Hungary game, Krčmarević said: "I think that we have a better team [than Hungary] but we lost our first game against them [2-1] and now we have everything to prove in the last 90 minutes. A lot of my players were on Olympic duty and they are in good condition but we have so much work ahead. I expect some hard days and a good match."

'Nice run'
Serbia - or Serbia and Montenegro – have qualified for the last three U21 finals, reaching the semi-finals in 2006 and losing in the 2007 final. "This created an additional obligation for us," said the coach. "The Football Association of Serbia has really done everything for success in youth categories and we will try to continue our nice run."
