Keen to "see what some new candidates can offer us", Serbia Under-21 coach Slobodan Krčmarević has named four uncapped players in his squad for forthcoming friendlies against Ukraine and Romania.

Maximum effort
Goalkeeper Denis Petrić, defenders Rajko Brežančić and Saša Blagojević, and OFK Beograd forward Nemanja Milić will all have the chance to work their way into Serbia's UEFA European U21 Championship squad this summer after receiving maiden call-ups. "They all deserve a chance," explained Krčmarević, who will be without Ivan Obradović, Gojko Kačar and Miralem Sulejmani as the trio are on senior international duty. "We have less than three months before our first game in Sweden and we must be clever and use what little time we have together in the best way."

Quality opponents
Serbia will meet Ukraine in Jagodina on 27 March and then Romania in Kragujevac five days later as Serbia step up work ahead of this summer's finals. "We must use the forthcoming ten days well," continued Krčmarević, who has included Manchester United FC midfielder Zoran Tošić in his 23-man party. "We will work, speak and play. Our opponents were in with a shout of reaching the EURO themselves before the last qualifying round – they have plenty of quality and will be a really good test for us."
