UEFA is delighted to confirm that it has secured agreements with broadcast partners who will deliver extensive coverage in over 130 territories globally for the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship which begins in Denmark on Saturday.
The deals include excellent visibility for the final tournament in the eight participating countries – Belarus TV in Belarus, Czech TV in Czech Republic, TV2 in Denmark, RUV in Iceland, Cuatro in Spain, SSR SRG in Switzerland, Sky Sports in the UK, and ICTV and TRK Football in Ukraine.
Further distribution has been ensured in other European territories including Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Portugal and Romania.
Extensive coverage will also be delivered outside Europe through media rights agreements with major players in North Africa and the Middle East, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, the USA, Canada, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Malaysia, to name but a few, reflecting the global appeal and profile of the U21 Championship.
To complement the broadcast platform, free live streaming of the matches will be available on UEFA.com in selected territories with no TV coverage, guaranteeing unprecedented exposure for the final tournament.
The action kicks off on Saturday with games being staged in four venues in Denmark: Aarhus, Aalborg, Herning and Viborg.
