Team guide: Sweden

Sweden have reached the final tournament for the third time thanks to late goals against Turkey in their final game in the group stage and against France in the play-offs.

Beaten in the last four in their previous two final tournament appearances, Sweden came close to suffering more heartbreak in qualifying.

Progress from Group 7 was in the balance until Oscar Hiljemark's 92nd-minute strike against Turkey in the concluding qualifier earned a 4-3 success and top spot in the section. They were then on the brink of elimination after a 2-0 first-leg defeat to France in the play-offs only to eventually advance 4-3 on aggregate courtesy of Oscar Lewicki's late goal in a dramatic second leg in Halmstad.

"One of our goals is to grab one of the four Olympic berths," coach Håkan Ericson said. "We can't go with any other ambition."
