Four different players were on target as Switzerland, runners-up in the summer, eased past Croatia in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 5.

Having drawn 0-0 with Estonia in their first game of the section on Thursday, Pierluigi Tami's men made it four points from a possible six thanks to goals from Steven Zuber, Nzuzi Toko, Pajtim Kasami and Haris Seferovic in Sion.

Zuber set the hosts on their way eight minutes in when he controlled a right-wing cross from Rolf Feltscher inside the penalty area and fired past Lovre Kalinić.  Croatia redoubled their efforts at the start of the second half but their challenge was all but extinguished through Toko, Zuber's Grasshopper-Club team-mate, on 62 minutes.

Following clever interplay on the left, Zuber created the third with a pass into Kasami, who in turn set up the fourth for substitute Seferovic to score with a powerful shot from just outside the box. Switzerland are next in action on 7 October against Georgia, a day after Croatia try for their first points of the section at home to holders Spain.
