Group A

Czech Republic
There was bad news in the shape of Václav Kadlec being ruled out for the rest of the tournament through injury but for captain Jakub Brabec and midfielder Jiří Skalák, the prognosis is better, even if both missed the squad's light morning jogging session. Skalák admitted that the knee on which he had a meniscus operation in May had been painful during the Serbia match, but both players are expected to be fit to face Germany. Meanwhile, the Czech media went to town on the country's new hero, Jan Kliment, following the Jihlava forward's hat-trick, with Blesk hailing him as the 'new Milan Baroš'.

Denmark
Though prepared to concede they were deservedly beaten by Germany on Saturday, the Denmark players were quickly back in high spirits on Sunday morning. Indeed, staff around the squad felt that having their destiny still in their own hands helped to soften the blow of the 3-0 loss at the Eden Stadium. On the fitness front, Frederik Sørensen is recovering more quickly than expected from his hamstring injury, even if he remains a doubt to face Serbia, but Pierre Højbjerg is expected to be fit after missing the Germany game with fatigue.

Germany
A group led by Marc-André ter Stegen and Kevin Volland had another reason to celebrate following the win over Denmark, securing the prestigious title of 'bucketball' champions in training. Amin Younes was among the losing group in that exercise, but still had good cause to smile having produced a brilliant performance against Denmark. However, the bar is set far higher than winning bucketball or shining in a single match. "I am not here to become Man of the Match against Denmark, I came here to become a European champion," said the midfielder.

Serbia
The players had the morning off, with some relaxing in the hotel while others went for a walk and a coffee in Prague. Marko Dmitrović, Nemanja Petrović and Slavoljub Srnić then faced the media, with Petrović declaring: "The most important thing is that we can still reach the semis. Everything must fall into place. We're only interested in winning, and I know we're capable of doing that." After lunch, coach Mladen Dodić held a team meeting where they analysed the 4-0 defeat by the Czech Republic. The Serbia team then trained at the Domicil, the training ground of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR), owing to the fact Dukla Praha's stadium was not available.

Group B

Sweden 0-1 England
• Jesse Lingard's 85th-minute strike ended England's long wait for a victory on the U21 EURO stage, breathing life into their hopes of reaching the semi-finals.

Italy 0-0 Portugal
• Italy improved on their opening defeat by Sweden but could not find a way past Portugal goalkeeper José Sá and remain bottom of Group B, with Rui Jorge's men top.
