Czech Republic forward Václav Kadlec has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship after damaging ankle ligaments against Serbia.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward, who just minutes earlier had struck the crossbar with a shot, limped off the Letná Stadium pitch after 29 minutes of the tournament hosts' 4-0 win on Saturday.

Medical examinations showed there was no fracture of his left ankle, but further tests determined that Kadlec had suffered ligament damage and should not play again for a period three or four weeks.

This means that the striker, who spent the second half of last season on loan at former club Sparta Praha, is ruled out of Tuesday's final Group A encounter with Germany, and will play no further part in the race for a semi-final berth and a place at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Kadlec already missed the Czechs' opening group game against Denmark through suspension.
