Serbia avenge Portuguese defeat

Serbia 2-0 Portugal A debut goal from Zoran Tosic and a splendid Dejan Milovanovic free-kick won the day as the two U21 finals contenders met in Novi Sad.

Serbia 2-0 Portugal
Serbia continued their preparations for this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship with a 2-0 win against fellow finalists Portugal.

Defeat avenged
The home team avenged a 3-0 defeat by the same opponents in Portugal with a convincing display in Novi Sad. Miroslav Djukić's men, strengthened by the arrivals of defender Antonio Rukavina and midfielder Stefan Babović from the senior selection, got the result their efforts deserved.

First touch
After being played in by Milan Smiljanić, striker Zoran Tošić put them ahead after 18 minutes with a precise shot from just inside the box. It was the debutant's first touch of the game, having come on as a substitute for the injured Marko Perović minutes before. Dragan Mrda spurned two chances to enhance Serbia's lead either side of half-time before FK Crvena Zvezda captain Dejan Milovanović sealed the victory with a second goal on 68 minutes, hitting the target in style with a free-kick.
