Ten-man Sweden progress

Denmark 0-2 Sweden Late goals by Samuel Holmén and Eric Zengin sent the short-handed visitors through to the UEFA Under-21 Championship play-offs.

Adventurous Danes
Denmark only needed a draw to progress, but still went in search of the win and they produced the majority of the scoring opportunities before the break. Mikkel Thygesen, Nicki Zimling and Morten Rasmussen were all denied by Johan Dahlin in the Swedish goal, while further shots by Zimling, Thygesen and Kasper Lorentzen also went close. At the other end, Danish keeper Theis Rasmussen was forced into a great save from Alexander Farnerud's shot.

Swedes rally
Sweden showed more initiative in the second half without being dominant but their hopes of victory looked to have been dashed when Mattias Brärsmyr was sent off for his second yellow card with just under 20 minutes to go. However, Holmén finished off a slick move by sending a shot into the far corner seven minutes from time and substitute Zengin headed in the second with two minutes remaining.
