Iceland twice came from a goal down to gain their first point of their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign in a match played in torrid conditions in Senec.

Two penalties
The first goal arrived after 42 minutes when Matej Ižvolt scored from the penalty spot but four minutes after the interval the visitors drew level in identical circumstances through Bjarni Thor Vidarsson. Slovakia moved back in front when Ižvolt presented Pavol Pilár with the chance to head in on 69 minutes but Theodor Bjarnason (77) gave Iceland their first point in Group 7 after they lost against Cyprus in their opening game. Slovakia coach Jozef Barmoš said: "I hope for better conditions in return leg in Iceland. This wasn't good weather for any kind of football."
