Dumitru Bogdan scored the only goal as Moldova defeated Andorra 1-0 to win their second match in four outings in 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 1.
Moldova kicked off their campaign by beating Latvia, but a subsequent draw with the Faroe Islands and defeat by Romania had hit their qualification hopes. They returned to winning ways in Tiraspol, though, thanks to Bogdan's strike four minutes before half-time following Artur Patras's corner. Moldova dominated possession but were unable to register again, with Dmitrii Vornisel, twice, and Patras missing good chances. Victory moved Moldova to within five points of joint leaders Russia and Romania in fourth place, with a game in hand. Andorra are still looking for their first point, and goal, after six attempts.
