Chris Maguire struck a minute from time to earn Scotland a 2-1 win against Austria to secure top spot in JUEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 10.

Scotland, Austria and Belarus all started the day level on 14 points with only the section winners assured of a place in Friday's play-off draw. Belarus beat Azerbaijan 1-0 and seemed set for top spot only to be pipped to first place by Scotland, who looked destined for a point until Maguire struck a minute before the final whistle.

It was Austria, though, who had taken the lead, Marko Arnautović drilling low into the net from the edge of the penalty area. Parity was restored just before the half-hour when Barry Bannan volleyed Paul Caddis' cross past Heinz Lindner, but Billy Stark's side had to wait until the dying seconds to be sure of their fate.
