Bulgaria made an impressive start to UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2015 qualifying Group 2 by sweeping aside Andorra 3-0 in Lovech.
After a subdued opening 15 minutes, the match came to life when Bozhidar Vasev picked out Todor Nedelev on the edge of the penalty area. The PFC Botev Plovdiv midfielder brought the ball under control with his chest, before sending a magnificent first-time volley beyond visiting goalkeeper Daniel Vinardell. Zhivko Petkov added a second on the stroke of half-time and Ivaylo Chochev's header made sure of the points.
"Obviously it is a good start. It is a new chapter and we still have a lot of work to do," said Bulgaria coach Mihail Madanski, whose team join Russia at the section summit. "We play Andorra again on Wednesday and we should not underestimate them. The road is long and we need to remain completely focused."
