Comfortable victory
In a pool reduced to three teams by the withdrawal of FC Iveria, the Norwegian first qualifying round Group A4 hosts began their campaign on Thursday with a 2-0 win against FC Honka Espoo, and after the Finnish side had beaten NSA 6-0, Røa needed only a point in a deciding game brought forward to Monday to top the group and go through. By half-time they were four up as two Guro Knutsen goals had been added to by a Lene Mykjåland strike and Siri Nordby penalty, after after the break Sarah Huffman had made it five and Emilie Haavi scored on 78 and 83 minutes.

Frankfurt test
Home coach Geir Nordby, whose team will compete from 9-14 October in second qualifying round Group B1 against holders 1. FFC Frankfurt and two sides to be determined on Tuesday when the other mini-tournament conclude, said: "I'm satisfied with the short week and the two games we played. The key game for us was the first game against FC Honka but the game today are also very important for our many young players. It's quite different to play international games and we are learning from them every time. Our first goal for the competition was to get through the first qualifying round and now we are there. We are looking forward to playing against some of the best teams in Europe and although we are playing in a really hard group still our goal is to play in the quarter-finals in November. We know that it's going to be tough but we do have many players in our team with a lot of international experience."
