Olympique Lyonnais put the gloss on a 5-0 first-leg lead by sweeping aside FC Malmö 3-0 in Sweden to keep their dream of a third straight UEFA Women's Champions League crown alive.

Any lingering hopes of a remarkable turnaround were extinguished when Lotta Schelin struck for a third time in the tie on 15 minutes. Midfielder Megan Rapinoe made it two shortly after the restart, before Wendie Renard completed the formalities to set up a semi-final encounter with French rivals FCF Juvisy Essonne on 13/14 April and 20/21 April.

Following a masterly first-leg display, the holders resumed with the same air of superiority. Camille Abily led the charge, beguiling Malmö's massed ranks and teeing up Schelin, who made no mistake from close range. Lyon were in no mood to relent after the restart, Rapinoe taking receipt of Eugénie Le Sommer's incisive pass and crashing the ball past goalkeeper Thóra Helgadóttir and in off the crossbar.

Malmö toiled in vain to gain a foothold in the match with Sara Bjork Gunnarsdóttir firing over following nimble footwork from the impressive Ramona Bachmann. That was as good as it got for the Swedish hosts, however, as Renard duly landed the final blow with a thumping header a minute from time.
