UEFA Women's Champions League holders VfL Wolfsburg have signed Switzerland midfielder Lara Dickenmann and her France counterpart Élise Bussaglia on free transfers from Olympique Lyonnais.

The players will join the German club at the end of the season and both have agreed a contract until summer 2017. "In Lara Dickenmann and Élise Bussaglia we were able to sign two top players for VfL," said Wolfsburg coach Ralf Kellermann. "With their international experience and quality, both players will help us to continue on our way."

Dickenmann, who won the 2011 and 2012 European title with Lyon, added: "The Bundesliga is one of the best, if not the best, leagues in the world. I am looking forward to getting to know another football culture and mentality and being part of an ambitious side next term."

Bussaglia, also 29, explained: "Having played for four big clubs in France [FCF Juvisy Essonne, Montpellier Hérault SC, Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon], the Bundesliga and VfL will be a new and exciting challenge for me."

Wolfsburg meet Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals on 18 and 26 April.
