Kazakhstan make their point

Kazakhstan secured their first ever UEFA Women's Championship point by drawing 0-0 with Group 6 rivals Israel.

The visitors to Almaty gained confidence from their opening 4-1 win in Estonia, but Kazakhstan, who themselves were beaten 3-2 by the Estonians in their tournament debut, held firm to keep alive their hopes of gaining promotion to the top four groups.

One-point lead
However, Israel were able to take first place from Belarus, although the next visitors to Kazakhstan on 25 September are only a point behind with a game in hand. Israel then visit Belarus on 18 October.
