Matikainen fills Peltonen void

Finland have been forced to make a change to their squad after goalkeeper Satu Peltonen damaged a thigh.

Like Germany on Tuesday, Finland have been forced to make a change to their final squad for UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2005™ following an injury to a goalkeeper.

Thigh muscle
The 24-year-old Satu Peltonen was in the squad to provide back-up to regular No1 Satu Kunnas but will now watch the championship from home having damaged a thigh muscle while representing her club side FC Honka last weekend.

Mixed emotions
Peltonen has been replaced in the squad by FC Espoo custodian Noora Matikainen, who said: "It's obviously a surprise for me although I knew I was on the reserve list. I feel really sorry for Satu but on the other hand will be very proud to represent Finland in England."
