Ukraine coach Anatoliy Kutsev has named a full-strength squad for UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™, saying that his selection for their finals debut effectively picked itself.

Duo fit
Kutsev has welcomed back Valentyna Kotyk and Iryna Vasylyuk from injury for the trip to Finland, where they meet the Netherlands, Denmark and the hosts in Group A from 23 August, and also included uncapped midfielder Tetiana Romanenko. Eleven of the squad are based in Russia, including Nadezhda Baranova, Vira Dyatel, Alla Lyshafay, Nataliya Zinchenko and Daryna Apanaschenko from the Zvezda-2005 side that played in last season's UEFA Women's Cup final.

Backbone
"The backbone of the team was formed a long time ago," Kutsev told uefa.com. "It's no secret that we don't have many candidates for the national team. On the other hand, we can rely on experienced players, who have come a long way to realise their dream. Now they are preparing for the tournament in Finland with huge commitment. The young players also want to prove themselves and fight for a place in the team. This all helps our national team, and it's very prestigious to play for it."
