UEFA Women's EURO 2017 organisers have been handed the 133-vehicle Kia fleet that will be used to transport teams, officials and VIPs during the finals in the Netherlands, starting on Sunday.
The official handover of the cars took place in front of Rotterdam's Sparta stadium, nicknamed 'Het Kasteel', with DH Jung, president of Kia Motors Netherlands, and Léan Verstoep, managing director Kia Motors Netherlands. Robert Bossert (UEFA), Bert van Oostveen (tournament director), Minke Booij (KNVB manager of women's football) and official mascot Kicky attended the ceremony.
A UEFA sponsor since 2006 and the exclusive transport provider for UEFA Women's EURO 2017, Kia handed over models including Niro, Carens, Cee'd, Optima Sportswagon, Sportage and Sorento. Léan Verstoep, said: "Through our involvement, we are able to present ourselves as a brand that makes high-quality cars for sporting people who are young in spirit and support the development of women's football in Europe."
