How the Women's Nations League finals draw worked

The draw respected the following principles in accordance with paragraphs 19.03 and 19.04 of the Regulations of the 2025 UEFA Women's Nations League and 2026 Women's European Qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup:

  • No teams were seeded for the semi-final draw.
  • For each semi-final pairing, the team drawn first plays the first leg of the tie at home.
  • The two winners of the semi-finals play against one another in the two-legged final and the defeated teams play for third place in a two-legged tie.
  • A draw between the semi-final pairings determines which teams play the first match of the final and the first match of the third-place tie at home.

Draw procedure: Semi-finals

The four balls containing the names of the four League A group winners were placed in one bowl. A ball was drawn and the team drawn placed as the home team in the semi-final 1 tie.

A second ball was drawn and the team drawn placed as the away team in the semi-final 1 tie.

A third ball was drawn and the team drawn placed as the home team in the semi-final 2 tie.

The remaining ball was drawn and the team drawn placed as the away team in the semi-final 2 tie.

Draw procedure: Final and third-place match

Two balls containing "semi-final 1" and "semi-final 2" were placed in the central bowl and shuffled.

The first ball drawn determined the team that will play the first match at home for the final (winners of that semi-final pairing) and for the third-place match (defeated team of that semi-final pairing).

As outlined in paragraphs 18.01 and 18.02 of the Regulations of the 2025 UEFA Women's Nations League and 2026 Women's European Qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup:

  • The third-placed teams in each group of League A play against the second-placed teams in each group of League B. The winner of each tie will play in League A for the Women's European Qualifiers phase; the defeated team will play in League B.
  • The two best-ranked third-placed teams of League B, ranked 25 to 26 in the overall league rankings, play against the two best-ranked second-placed teams of League C, ranked 39 to 40 in the overall league rankings. The winner of each tie will play in League B for the Women's European Qualifiers phase; the defeated team will play in League C.
  • The promotion and relegation ties are determined by means of a draw. The third-placed teams are seeded for the draw and play their respective second leg matches at home.
