2022 Women's U17 finals draw: holders Germany face hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina

The eight teams were split into two groups of four in Sarajevo for the finals from 3 to 15 May in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina are in a group with holders Germany after the draw was made by tournament ambassador Milena Nikolić and Anne Rei, chair of the UEFA women's football committee, at Hotel Hills in Sarajevo. The tournament returns after being cancelled for the last two seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The finals take place from 3 to 15 May in Bosnia and Herzegovina and are the first UEFA final tournament to be played in that nation. The schedule will be confirmed in due course.

The finals draw split the hosts and seven round 2 winners into two groups of four. Group A contains Bosnia and Herzegovina, record seven-time champions Germany, the Netherlands – runners-up in the last final tournament in 2019 and set to open against the hosts – and Denmark. Group B includes quadruple champions Spain (who qualiifed after the draw, on 13 April) and three-time runners-up France.

The top two in each section will progress to the semi-finals, with the decider to follow three days later. The tournament will also act as UEFA's qualifier for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup from 11 to 30 October in India, with the top three finishers in the tournament to represent Europe. The third spot will be decided by a play-off between the teams beaten in the semi-finals.

Draw procedure

Hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina were placed in Group A, in position 1. The seven remaining teams were in one pot and were drawn freely one after another. The first ball drawn determined the team in position B1. The second ball drawn determined the team in position A2. The third ball drawn determined the team in position B2. The same procedure was repeated to determine positions A3, B3, A4 and B4.
