Article body
Germany and Sweden have been drawn together in one of four tough UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship second qualifying round groups.
Big two meet
Only the winners of the four mini-tournaments in spring will qualify for the following month's finals, to be hosted by one of the competitors, and Group 3 brings together two of the big names in international women's football, with top seeds Germany meeting Sweden at home. Switzerland and Poland are the other two teams in the section. In the other pools, the traditionally strong nations of Norway and hosts France have been paired together in Group 2 with Scotland and the Republic of Ireland while Russia, Finland, Iceland and home side Denmark square up in a tough-looking Group 4. England and hosts the Czech Republic will meet neighbours Belgium and the Netherlands in Group 1.
World Cup goal
The 16 teams in the second qualifying round were among 40 to enter the inaugural competition which began in September. The top three in the finals will qualify for the first FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand next autumn.
