It was the difficult match we expected. As I had predicted, it is always difficult to play against Danish teams as they are well organised at the back and have a good team spirit. It's hard to play them because they are very good at closing the gaps. In the first half, we failed to vary the pace a bit more. We did not cope too well with their defensive movement and were also a bit too static with the ball. After the goal, the Danes played a bit more offensively, and they got a bit more possession. In this closing phase we should have been more calm and closed the match out. In the end we deserved to win this match, as we had probably about 70 per cent of the possession. Now we are happy we passed that obstacle and are looking forward to Friday's final. We will try to play our usual game and play our own tactics, even though you normally try to look at their playing system and see for example how many strikers they have.

Bent Eriksen, Denmark coach
Of course we are very disappointed. Our team worked very hard all match, but I think it is OK that Germany won this match, because they are probably a bit stronger than us. Physically we are just as good as them but technically they are a bit ahead of us. They have a few players who are very hard to play against. Their No10, Dzsenifer Marozsan, is very strong and she ultimately scored the winner. We have played Germany several times and we always have problems against them, so it was not easy for us today. But I am proud of my girls because they fought very hard. To beat a team like Germany you would need a lot of luck because they have so many good players to choose from, but I think that in a couple of years we can maybe beat them. After the match, I told the girls that they should not be too disappointed with the result. We have another match on Friday and we will do our best to win that one.
