Dutch top
At Antalya's Mardan Sport Complex, where the 2007/08 men's U17 finals were held, three of the nations involved in that tournament – hosts Turkey, the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland –- took part again. Ireland and the Netherlands both defeated the hosts and the Faroe Islands before Maria van Kortenhof's side beat the Republic 2-0 to come top. Ireland face a wait to see if they can go through as one of the six best runners-up.

Hat-tricks
On Matchday 1, the Netherlsnds showed intent by beating the Faroe Islands 8-0. Lisanne Grimberg claimed a first-half hat-trick and Wendy Mulder made it four after the break. Lieke Martens scored in the 65th minute and struck twice more in added time, following a Desiree van Lunteren goal. Turkey led Ireland early in the second half through Hanife Demiryol but Maria Delahunty and Dora Gorman ensured a 2-1 win.

Repeat successes
Ireland had it more comfortable against the Faroe Islands and Gorman took two minutes to score and Rosanne Maguire added a couple before the break in a 3-0 success. The Netherlands lost 3-0 to Turkey at the Mardan Sport Complex in the men's U17 finals but turned the table with a 4-0 victory courtesy of another Grimberg hat-trick and a late Merel van Dongen strike.

Ireland pipped
Top on goal difference, a draw would have been enough for the Netherlands but Ellen Jansen and Martens ensured all three points against Ireland. Tirkey finished third after Fatma Serdar, Gizem Gönültas, Hülya Kaya and Naciye Kara scored to beat the Faroe Islands 4-0.
