What they said: Abdulai Toloba does a 'Bergkamp'

The 15-year-old Mariam Abdulai Toloba reminded us, with her control over an opponent and a shot with the outside of the foot, of the legendary goal of Dennis Bergkamp against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup.

It’s great for both women’s and youth football for this goal to have been acknowledged as one of the ten nominees for the most beautiful goal. It’s amazing to see these young girls developing and showing off these technical skills. There are so many talented girls and it’s great to see them making their mark like this. Hopefully by highlighting their talents, we can inspire more young girls to participate in football.
