The Republic of Ireland have completed the lineup for the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship in Iceland after finishing as the elite round group runners-up with the best record against the sides first and third in their section.

Ireland opened elite round Group 2 on home soil with a 2-0 victory against England, only to then draw 0-0 with both the Netherlands and Hungary, each of whom their initial victims, the English, subsequently beat to come first. However Ireland, who topped their qualifying round group undefeated, conceding just once, had a better record than fellow elite runners-up Sweden (by virtue of a superior goal difference), Serbia, Czech Republic, Belgium and Scotland.

Women's U17 runners-up in 2010, Ireland now go into the finals draw, streamed live from Reykjavik City Hall on Wednesday 29 April at 13.30CET (11.30 local time). They will be joined by hosts Iceland and group winners England, France, holders and four-time victors Germany, Norway, two-time champions Spain, and Switzerland.

Elite round qualifiers
Group 1: Switzerland
Group 2: England, Republic of Ireland
Group 3: Germany (holders)
Group 4: Spain
Group 5: Norway
Group 6: France
Bye to finals: Iceland

• The final tournament will be played from 22 June to 4 July in Grindavik, Kopavogs, Akranes and three venues in Reykjavik.
