Alexandra Popp's goal in the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship final not only helped her team to the inaugural title but also ensured she finished as the competiton's overall top scorer.

Germany duo
Popp and Berglind Thorvaldsdóttir both claimed ten qualifying goals, but because Iceland did not reach the finals in Nyon, 1. FFC Recklinghausen striker Popp was able to pull away from her rival. Her team-mate Dzenifer Marozsan, who broke the deadlock in the 3-0 victory over France, was the final tournament's leading scorer with two having also decided the semi-final against Denmark.
