Popp and Berglind Thorvaldsdóttir both claimed ten qualifying goals, but because Iceland did not reach the finals in Nyon, 1. FFC Recklinghausen striker Popp was able to pull away from her rival. Her team-mate Dzenifer Marozsan, who broke the deadlock in the 3-0 victory over France, was the final tournament's leading scorer with two having also decided the semi-final against Denmark.
