Belgium comeback
In a mini-tournament reduced to three teams by the withdrawal of Georgia, hosts Belgium defeated Kazakhstan 12-0 in their opener, while Denmark beat the same opponents 6-0. That left Denmark needed to beat Belgium in Genk and they raced into a 2-0 lead only to be pegged back for a draw to the delight of the 1,000 crowd.

Substitute hat-trick
The home side made a perfect start on Matchday 1 when Kazakhstan's Anastassiya Litvinova put through a second-minute own goal. Yana Daniels doubled the lead and Elisa Lomma struck trice to make it 4-0 at half-time. Daniels scored again before the second half brought two Ellen Charlier goals, a hat-trick by fellow substitute Jana Coryn and further strikes by Coralie Huberty and Tessa Wullaert.

Denmark win
Rikke Collin Sloth Kristensen out Denmark ahead against Kazakstan two days later and Fitore Zejmullahi scored twice befote the break. Annika Hansen added another and Sofie Skallerup and Line Kristensen – from the penalty spot – also found the target but Denmark still trailed Belgium ahead of their decider.

Duo through
It was going well for Denmark when Memer and Sloth Kristiansen put them 2-0 up late in the first half. But within five minutes of the interval Wullaert had pulled one back and Hubery equalised with seven minutes left. However, thanks to that point Denmark will join Belgium in the second qualifying round as one of the six second-placed teams with the best record against the rest of the top three in their pool.
