Sweden striker Elin Rubensson has been crowned top scorer after registering five goals in four outings at the 2012 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship.
Scorer of the only goal in Sweden's opening-day victory over England, from the penalty spot, the FC Malmö youngster added doubles against Serbia and Denmark. Spain resisted her in the final, but the 19-year-old still managed an assist for Malin Diaz's winner and her haul of five goals was three clear of the next most prolific players in Antalya, Diaz and showpiece opponents Virginia Torrecilla and Raquel Pinel.
Rubensson's feat is especially remarkable considering that with 26 goals this was the lowest ever goalscoring finals at this level; the past three editions all passed the half-century mark. She was just as prolific in qualifying, scoring eight goals in six outings to end with 13 for the campaign. Only Elena Danilova of Russia has ever managed more, scoring 15 in 2004/05 and 17 in 2005/06.
