Germany 5-0 Czech Republic
Germany earned another big friendly win ahead of their FIFA Women's World Cup defence, seeing off the Czech Republic in front of 5,000 fans in Gera.

Prinz leads the way
Fresh from a 4-0 weekend defeat of fellow World Cup qualifiers Denmark, the Germany players wanted another good performance in their last game before the final squad is announced for China. And a starting lineup that could well be fielded in the Far East began well, with Birgit Prinz breaking the deadlock on 19 minutes with a shot into the top corner before setting up Simone Laudehr to double the lead. Kerstin Garefrekes made it three before the break, being first to a rebound off the crossbar. Second-half substitutions disrupted Germany's flow, but one of the replacements, Martina Müller, sent a message to coach Silvia Neid with an 83rd-minute goal before Prinz took her international tally to 108 in added time.

Warm-up schedule
The squad for China will return to action with a UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ qualifier against Switzerland in Koblenz on 22 August and a last friendly with Norway in Mainz eight days later. Germany begin their bid for a second successive World Cup title in Shanghai against Argentina on 10 September. They play England four days later and then Japan in a Group A climax on 17 September.
