Futsal Club Eindhoven, MFK Dinamo Moskva and Győri ETO FC completed the UEFA Futsal Cup elite round lineup after the conclusion of the last two main round mini-tournaments.
All four sides were in contention in Group 1 at kick-off, and in the first game Eindhoven ensured their elite round berth by defeating Athina '90 Athens 10-3, never looking back after Mohamed Allouch, Adil Zouthane and Karim Bali scored in the first seven minutes.
Dinamo, European champions in 2007, then eased through behind Eindhoven on head-to-head record as they saw off Slovenian mini-tournament hosts KMN Svea Lesna Litija 4-1, Fernandinho claiming a hat-trick and Cirilo also on target. Litija had gambled on Borut Kristan as a flying goalkeeper throughout the match but although they did put Dinamo under pressure, an unguarded net proved their undoing.
Group 2 was simpler with FC Barcelona confirmed as winners on Friday but another place still up for grabs on Sunday. That was settled in the early game when Győr, preliminary round qualifiers like Eindhoven, beat KMF Leotar Trebinje 7-5 in a thriller. An early 2-0 lead for the Hungarian side – who required just a draw – was wiped out before the break and Győr then moved ahead again only for Leotar to go 5-3 up.
However, Leotar let a 3-1 advantage slip late in Friday's draw with hosts FK Nikars Riga and did similarly today. Zsolt Gyurcsányi and Zoltán Dróth levelled the scores prior to Nijaz Mulahmetović's own goal and a clincher from Győr keeper Zoltán Balázs. Nikars bowed out with a 12-0 loss to Barcelona, the Spanish champions securing maximum points in their first European mini-tournament.
Elite round draw
In the elite round draw at 13.30CET on Tuesday 11 October in Nyon, four groups of four teams will be formed to be played between 12 and 20 November, the section winners progressing to the finals in April.
Two groups will each contain one of the four top seeds entering the tournament at this stage, one main group winner and two main round group runners-up. The other two groups will each contain one top seed, two main round group winners and one main round group runner-up.
Before the draw four teams will be designated as mini-tournament hosts and picked from a separate pot, though retaining their ranking either as top seeds, main round winners or runners-up. No team can meet a side who they played in the main round.
