Moment of truth for final six

UEFA Cup places are at stake as the UEFA Intertoto Cup finals conclude tonight in Germany and Spain.

Strong Wolfsburg squad
Only German team VfL Wolfsburg go into their home leg trailing, having lost 1-0 in Italy to AC Perugia a fortnight ago. Wolfsburg coach Jürgen Röber is without the injured Tomislav Maric and Maik Franz may be dropped after being sent off at the weekend against TSV 1860 München.

Away goal threat
Röber is considering an attacking lineup deploying Stefan Schnoor in midfield to overturn the deficit - but is aware of the danger of an away goal. "We must not let them score because that would leave us needing three goals to go through," he said.

Bothroyd up front
Perugia are yet to concede a goal in the competition and Jay Bothroyd - who scored the first-leg winner - will again partner Zisis Vryzas up front in an unchanged lineup. Coach Serse Cosmi, whose side last played in the UEFA Cup 24 years ago, said: "We are fully focused on this match. We are confident and we do not fear them at all. This match is too important for us. We desperately want to play in Europe."

Lead for Villarreal
Villarreal CF welcome SC Heerenveen to Spain holding a 2-1 lead from the first leg in the Netherlands. Home coach Benito Floro, whose club are chasing their first-ever UEFA Cup berth, is warning his team not to be complacent - saying it would be "unforgivable" to go out from this position.

'Everything can change'
He said: "The worst thing we could do is think that it is all done because such a match is full of complications and everything can change in just one second when you talk about football. A player sent off or a penalty could make the result change and it would be really painful if this happened because we were not focused enough."

'Important game'
Floro added: "We face a very important game and the fans must get behind us much as they can." He described the game as "the most important in the history of this club".

Sibon broken nose
Heerenveen are likely to be without striker Gerald Sibon, who broke his nose during Saturday's 1-0 Eredivisie win against Feyenoord. "It is not clear how long he will be out, maybe it will not be too long," said coach Foppe de Haan. "But I think the Intertoto match against Villarreal will probably come too early for him."

Assauer warning
In the final match, Austria's SV Pasching travel to German side FC Schalke 04 having to overcome a 2-0 deficit from their home leg if they are to progress to the UEFA Cup. Rudi Assauer, Schalke managing director, has warned his team against underestimating Pasching, however, who were 5-1 aggregate winners against an SV Werder Bremen side who defeated Schalke 4-1 on Saturday. "We should not underestimate the Austrians, we just have to look what happened to Werder Bremen," he said.

Question mark
Schalke coach Jupp Heynckes is missing a number of players but may yet decide to field Turkey Under-21 midfield player Hamit Altintop, who has a bruised foot. His Pasching counterpart, Heinz Hochhauser, has no such problems and in Eduard Glieder has an in-form striker, scorer of seven goals in five games.
