FC Dynamo Kyiv have strengthened ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round first leg against KAA Gent with the signing of 17-year-old goalkeeper Maxym Koval subject to a medical.

Dynamo coach Valeri Gazzaev announced Koval's move from FC Metalurh Zaporizhya in Monday's pre-match press conference, although he did not reveal any further details of the transfer. Koval played 19 times in last season's Ukrainian Premier League and has featured in Metalurh's first three games of the new campaign. He has represented Ukraine at Under-19 and U17 level and will be vying for the No1 spot with Olexandr Shovkovskiy, 35, who is currently injured.
