Pessotto pens new deal

Gianluca Pessotto has extended his contract with Juventus FC until 2005.

Italian international defender Gianluca Pessotto has signed a contract extension with Juventus FC keeping him at the club until 2005.

'Very happy'
The versatile 32-year-old, who would have become a free agent in the summer, said he was delighted with the new deal. "I am very happy - now I think I could end my career with Juventus," he said.

Medals haul
Pessotto is close to a first-team comeback after recovering from the knee injury that kept him out of the FIFA World Cup finals. He joined Juventus from Torino Calcio in 1995 and has won three Italian titles and the UEFA Champions League with the Bianconeri.
